Adela and I trekking in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco
Adela and I climbed Mt. Toubkal in Morocco. We trekked for three days up the mountain to its frozen peak. And after that she made me walk from village to village in the Atlas mountains for two more days! I was exhausted, but of course, I would never quit. Adela was an athlete since childhood so all of the climbing was easy for her. Adela and our guide flew up and down the mountains as I lagged behind sweating and struggling. But I didn’t care because my lifelong quest has been to lose the same 10 lbs and I hoped this was finally the silver bullet! Weight was one the top ten topics of conversation between me and Adela and we would laugh for hours at my weight losing schemes. And trekking the Atlas mountains was grueling and I was sure I was burning off those annoying 10 pounds! But our cook was making us delicious Moroccan meals and we ate everything and swore we would starve the next day. But we kept eating and laughing at ourselves and we even took a cooking class at our Riad in Marrakesh Our adventures in Morocco were some of the highlights of my life! And I can’t think of a better person to walk into the chaos of Marrakesh, and then trek up Mt. Toubkal than Adela. We had so much more to explore. But I will continue my travels to the places we said we would visit. She had not explored the African continent much, so I will do it for us. I love you so much, Adela. Please walk with me in Spirit as I continue our journeys without your physical presence. I miss you Delphina🥲.
