Out of all the memories I have of Adela, this might not be the biggest but it is one that hold fondly. During my time staying in Iceland , conducting my research on whales, Adela along with family and friends came to visit. We had an amazing time traveling around, seeing whales for the first time together which was a turning point for my career and perosnal life, walking around, bonding, seeing the nothern lights. Months after, when I concluded writing my thesis, before presenting it, I asked her if she would double check my english and help me make the thesis better and she so kindly agreed. She spent time correcting mistakes, making suggestions, fixing and tiding up my research- for me that thesis, that reseach was a defining moment. it allowed me to pivot and pursue new opportunities, make my way into the conseervation sphere, publish and attend conferences. And I cannot help but thank all the people that made their contribution in this- Adela being one of them. I will always be thankful for that, howver small it might be. You always remember when people stop to help, give you their time, their insight. Anyone who ever might read this piece of work will read her name in the acknowledgments and I will always remember being together in iceland, seeing the whales, helping me with this. To me this holds great importance and I hold it very close to my heart.
