Echo Park Carne Asada

For 15 of the 20 years Adela live in Los Angeles we somehow managed to live within a few blocks of each other. I don't remember who moved to Echo Park first, but there we were walking distance from each other and able to get together last minute for carne asada, wine on the deck, and lots of laughter. About five years later I followed her (and our dear friend Martha) to Highland Park and lived three blocks away. The path between our houses was well worn. So much so that when I stepped out of the house with our dog Kofi, he always immediately walked towards Adela's house. Even after she left to Geneva with Todd Kofi still dragged me to her house excited to see her, then disappointed when she wasn't there. Me, too Kofi, me too.
